What we do
We publish honest, practical guides to help travellers plan a trip to Koh Lanta, Thailand, what to see, where to stay, what things cost and how to get around, and we point to bookable, highly rated tours and hotels along the way.
Who is behind the site
Koh-Lanta-Island.com is written, checked and corrected by one person, Kylian Dev (a pen name), a traveller who loves Thailand and has travelled there many times. The same person runs a small network of independent guides, including Thailand Voyager, with the same method on every site. The author page tells the longer story.
Kylian Dev is not a travel journalist and does not claim to have visited every hotel, tour or restaurant described here. What the site does claim is a method: use official sources and partner listings, say what is verified, and say where something is uncertain.
What the guide covers
One island: Koh Lanta, in Krabi province in southern Thailand. The guide covers the beaches and areas to stay in, getting there and getting around, the weather through the year, prices on the island, and the day trips and tours available from it. It is published in English and German, and both versions follow the same research and correction process.
Our method
Official sources first
Each practical claim is checked against official sources where they exist: the national park authority, the Thai Meteorological Department, Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Krabi International Airport and the ferry operators.
Verified listings only
Every tour price, rating and review count is read on the partner's live page before publishing. Never invented.
Kept up to date
Prices, schedules and travel times are given as indications and dated; reference pages show a last verified date and their sources.
Where our facts come from
- Marine park: the Mu Ko Lanta National Park information from Thai National Parks, for fees, hours and seasonal closures.
- Weather: the Thai Meteorological Department.
- Entry and visas: Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and your own government's travel advice. We do not summarise visa, health or safety rules ourselves.
- Access: Krabi International Airport and the operators serving Saladan pier, completed by dated price surveys from booking platforms.
- Tours and stays: live listings on GetYourGuide and Trip.com, read at the time of research. We list only tours rated 4.5 stars or higher.
